The Standard For The English Springer Spaniel
General Appearance and Type: The English Springer Spaniel is a medium size sporting dog with a neat, compact body and a docked tail. His/Her coat is moderately long, glossy, usually liver and white or black and white, with feathering on the legs, ears, chest and brisket.
The long ears, soft gentle expression, sturdy build and friendly, wagging tail proclaim him unmistakably a member of the Spaniel Family. He/She is above all a well proportioned dog, free from exaggeration, nicely balanced in every part.
His/Her carriage is proud and upstanding; body deep, legs strong and muscular with enough length to carry him/her with ease. The short level back, well developed thighs, good shoulders, excellent feet, suggest power, endurance, and agility, endowed with style, symmetry, balance, and enthusiasm. Combining beauty and utility, they are equally adaptable to inside or outside living.
